My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Western Carolina University, where I focused on Business Administration and Law as part of my pre-law studies. I further enhanced my understanding with coursework in strategic management at Fayetteville State University. I earned my MBA from Syracuse University’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management, with a specialization in entrepreneurship and business analytics. This diverse educational background has provided me with invaluable skills in marketing, data-driven decision-making, leadership, and global business strategy, all of which I apply in my work every day.

 

Before founding Pier Writing Services, I spent years as an entrepreneur, supporting peers and business owners by translating complex business concepts into accessible language. This commitment to transparency and clarity continues to shape my approach today. I have had the privilege of collaborating with professionals across various fields—including e-commerce, engineering, education, healthcare, and technology—to craft impactful resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and professional bios that truly showcase their strengths.

 

As a dedicated business mentor with SCORE Raleigh, I have guided over 40 startups, small businesses, and nonprofits in essential areas, including business planning, marketing, financial forecasting, and growth strategy. I find immense fulfillment in helping both emerging entrepreneurs and established professionals navigate career transitions, providing insights that lead to tangible success.

 

In addition to my writing and mentoring work, I have spent years tutoring graduate and undergraduate students in business and writing. I focus on helping students master complex concepts in areas like business strategy, entrepreneurship, law, and analytics by breaking down technical material into clear, actionable insights. I also support academic writing, assisting with everything from structuring research papers, theses, proposals, and case studies to refining clarity, tone, and formatting.
